Showerthought: My old tent's zipper gave out in a Wyoming storm
I was in the Wind River Range when the main door zipper just ripped apart in the wind and rain. I ended up using a bunch of safety pins and a tarp to make a seal for the night. Has anyone else had a tent fail like that, and what did you do to fix it on the spot?

Man that sounds rough. I can just picture that zipper giving up in a Wyoming downpour, not a fun time at all. I had a pole snap on me once in a high wind and had to basically lash the whole thing together with paracord. That feeling when your shelter fails is just the worst. Good thinking with the safety pins and tarp, that's real on the fly problem solving right there.

That feeling when your shelter fails is the worst. Had a tarp shelter just get shredded by hail once. Spent the night under a rock overhang.
