Got called out for sharing old tweets from 2011 and now I check post dates like a hawk
Someone on Reddit pointed out I was dunking on a comedian for a joke from 14 years ago, and I realized I do this constantly without checking the date. Now I screenshot the timestamp before I quote anyone, but I'm wondering if that's even enough anymore.
Timestamp screenshots can be faked pretty easy these days, so that alone won't save you. The bigger thing is just reading the room, like if the joke was made before some big cultural shift, it probably hit different back then. 2011 was a whole other world honestly.
