The 24-hour rule changed how I look at callout posts and I finally got why
I noticed something specific that bugs me about how people handle callouts. Most folks judge a situation in the first hour after a post goes up, but that's when the info is at its worst. I started writing down the details of big callout cases in a notebook (I'm up to 31 since last March) and tracked how the story changed over the first day. In at least 22 of them, key facts came out after the first 24 hours that flipped the whole thing, like screenshots that got cut off or a context tweet nobody saw. My small win is that I stopped jumping in early and I've only regretted it zero times since then. The people who get it wrong are the ones who comment in the first 10 minutes, and honestly, it matters a lot when real reputations are on the line. Does anyone else here wait a day before forming an opinion, or am I just slow?
