My buddy of 12 years called me trash for not defending him in a group chat, so I picked silence over picking a side
Six weeks ago my buddy Dave got into it in our group chat with Jake, who's also a close friend, and I just watched about 40 messages fly by without saying a thing. He texted me after saying 'you're dead to me' because I didn't back him up, and I told him I wasn't going to trash a friend to win an argument for another friend. Was I wrong to stay out of it, or does he have a point that I should've had his back even if he was out of line?
