Appreciation post: I finally watched 'The OA' after seeing a mural in Austin

I was in Austin last month and saw a huge street mural for the show 'The OA' that fans had painted, which made me think it was just a weird art thing. I finally gave the show a shot and the way it ended on that cliffhanger with the school shooting and the dimensions, how can you just leave it there? What other canceled show has a fan base that literally paints the street to get it back?

Honestly, I get the passion, but I never clicked with that show. The mural is cool dedication, but the story itself felt all over the place to me, like it was trying too hard to be deep. That ending just seemed messy, not a clever cliffhanger. Some shows get canceled for a reason.

That mural took them like 80 hours to paint, which is wild. When you say the story felt all over the place, are you talking about the whole season two timeline jump? I felt that way at first, but then the flashbacks to the camp started to connect for me. What part made it feel like it was trying too hard?

The camp flashbacks made the dimension jump feel earned to me.
