Chose to finally watch The OA instead of rewatching Firefly for the 5th time, and now I have regret

I had two choices sitting in my queue for 6 months, start The OA or rewatch Firefly again. I picked The OA because everyone at my depot in Toledo kept telling me the first season was a masterpiece. Two seasons and a cliffhanger later, Netflix killed it in 2019 and I've been annoyed for weeks. At least Firefly has a movie to wrap it up, does anyone else avoid new shows for this exact reason?
