Heard a podcast guest say Mindhunter got canceled because Fincher wanted too much money per episode. Is that the full story or was there more to it? I keep going back and forth on whether a revival would actually work without that dark, slow-burn pacing he insisted on. What do you all think - would a cheaper version ruin the magic, or would any revival be better than nothing?

Cheaper version would just be people standing around talking about serial killers, might as well watch a Zoom call at that point. Fincher's budget WAS the magic.

Oh man, I'd probably be the one watching that Zoom call version and still thinking it's pretty good, but that just shows my taste is questionable.
