Thinking about how they left 'Mindhunter' hanging after season 2

Honestly, I spent about $60 on the first two seasons on Blu-ray a couple years back because I was so into it. It felt like a solid buy at the time, but now it just burns knowing the story never got finished. They built up the BTK killer so much and then just stopped. Has anyone heard any real rumors about Netflix bringing it back?

Remember that Fincher actually said the show was too expensive for the viewership it got. His schedule is busy, sure, but the real problem was the money. Netflix didn't think enough people were watching to justify the cost of making more. That's why it stopped, not just because he was busy. It's a shame because the quality was so high, but they run a business.

Man, does that ever bring back a memory. A buddy of mine tried for years to get Fincher to even look at a script, @daniel593. He finally got a meeting set through some crazy chain of contacts, and then the day before, the producer's assistant called to say Fincher had to fly to Lithuania for a reshoot or something. My friend was crushed, but honestly, hearing that his schedule is packed for years makes that whole story make sense now. It's like trying to book a dentist appointment with a ghost.
