Two years waiting on a second season of 'The Booth'

My local indie theater group produced 'The Booth' back in 2019, a comedy about a phone sex operator in Des Moines, and it got picked up by a streaming service for one run before they axed it. I figured the revival would take maybe six months to get a green light, but I've been waiting since March 2021 and the producer keeps saying budget talks are stalled. Has anyone else had a favorite show sit in limbo this long, and what did you do to keep the fan community from giving up?
