The $250 paint quote that made me stop DIY-ing body work
Took my 04 Civic to a shop in Portland after I tried fixing a door dent with a plunger and made it worse. The guy looked at my sanding marks and said 'you're just creating more work for whoever fixes this properly.' That quote hit different. I paid the $250 for them to fix a small crease and now I only touch mechanical stuff, not body panels. Has anyone else learned the hard way that some repairs are better left to pros?

Yeah, plungers are for toilets, not dents. Hope that lesson was cheap enough.
