TIL my trick for a stuck caliper slide pin was actually making things worse

What made you change your mind?

Remember when you had to actually open a laptop to find the model number?

Wait, you could actually read those stickers? Mine were always just a smudged gray blob.

Just figured out a way to stop my weekly spreads from looking so empty

My old roommate got a pixie cut last year and I thought it was a mistake. She looked so much more confident and put together almost immediately. I was totally wrong about short hair.

I finally understood the value of a good broom finish after a rain scare in Tacoma.

Holly's got a point, but it's funny how often the "wrong" way works out fine. You see this everywhere, not just concrete. People follow strict rules for things, but sometimes breaking them by accident gives you a decent result anyway. It makes you wonder how many rules are just there because that's how it's always been done. Maybe half of doing something right is just not messing it up too badly while you figure it out.

Just realized I was totally wrong about hydrangeas in arrangements

Oh man, the hammer thing is wild but it works! I had the same droopy hydrangea problem last summer. I tried the boiling water trick first, just dipping the stems, and that helped a bit. But then I saw someone whack the ends with a hammer online and gave it a shot. The next bunch lasted almost a full week in the vase instead of wilting in a day. It feels wrong to beat up a flower, but you gotta do what works.
