Finally got that Makita track saw I've been eyeing for a year
It was about $600 with the track, but it saved me a whole day on a big sheet goods job last week. I had to break down a stack of 3/4 inch maple plywood for built-ins, and the cuts were so clean I barely needed to run them through the table saw. Has anyone else found a tool that paid for itself that fast?

I once tried to cut plywood with a circular saw and a straight edge... it was a real mess.

Yeah, it's wild how the right tool can turn a whole day of work into just a few hours. Feels like that's true for a lot of things now, not just shop tools.

Totally, it's like the difference between trying to open a paint can with a screwdriver versus using the actual five-in-one tool. Some people still fight with the screwdriver for an hour and call it hard work. What's the worst "wrong tool" time-waster you've ever seen someone stick with?
