Is it time to ditch the old framing gun for a nailer that weighs half as much? My crew split last week

Last week in Tacoma we had a 2 story deck build. My partner showed up with one of those new lightweight cordless nailers, I had my trusty pneumatic that I have used for 16 years. He framed half the deck in 4 hours, I did the other half in 6 because I kept fighting the hose and my shoulder was screaming. He says the battery life is fine for a full day, but I remember when cordless nailers were useless in the cold. He paid $650 for it, my compressor setup cost me $200 back in 2009. So which is it? Are we all just clinging to old gear because we know it works, or are these new ones actually worth switching over? Has anyone else made the jump and regretted it or went back?

Progress always wins, just like cordless drills did.
