inWhy does nobody talk about the canned lentil soup trick?
Wait, you don't taste it as you go?

inI was at the Griffith Observatory last weekend and the light pollution from the city was way worse than I remember from like 10 years ago.
Remember that old lookout point? Wonder if you can even see a single star from there now.

inLooked at my calendar and saw I've trimmed 500 horses this year
Yeah, I did a contract for a big rescue in Texas last year that had over 600 head. Most of them had never had their feet handled, so we were basically starting from scratch on every single one. Took a three person crew nearly two months just to get through the basics.

inBought a $40 'detox' foot pad that promised to pull out toxins overnight
Oh man, those foot pads are such a scam. My sister bought a whole box once and made me try one, it just looked gross and damp in the morning. Total waste of money, like those magnetic bracelets that are supposed to help with pain.

inRant: My 'quick' shellac repair on a 1920s dresser turned into a sticky nightmare
Disagree with that method. Denatured alcohol will absolutely dissolve shellac, but it's a blunt tool for a delicate problem. You'll likely take off more of the original finish around the gummy spot than you intend, @olivia_harris19. It creates a bigger repair job. A better way is to use a tiny drop of shellac itself on a rag and gently work it into the sticky area. It re-amalgamates the old finish without the harsh stripping action. It takes more patience but saves the surrounding good finish.
