Salt air in my neighborhood is wrecking my exterior woodwork

I live near the coast and the salt spray is causing my siding to deteriorate fast. What materials would you recommend for a replacement that can handle this? I'm hoping to avoid this issue in the future, lol.

Honestly, I was just reading about this online. Fiber cement siding seems to handle salt air really well since it doesn't rot or corrode. Tbh, that's probably what I'd look into for a long term fix.

Yeah fiber cement is solid, but you gotta prime the backer board really well or moisture still finds a way in down here. Seen it hold up for 15 years when it's done right though.

My aunt's old place by the beach had these metal railings that turned into a crusty mess in like two years. It was wild. Always made me think twice about using any metal outside down there.
