Shoutout to the crew that made me rethink always using power tools

I used to grab the sawzall for everything to save minutes. After fitting tricky crown molding by hand, I got why some prefer old methods. Now I see both sides - power for bulk, hand for fine work. What's your go-to for detail jobs?

Nah, I see it the other way around. With practice, power tools can handle fine work just as well. I've done plenty of detailed cuts with a good multi-tool that would take forever by hand. It's all about control and knowing your gear. For me, the speed and exact cuts from power tools win even on tricky jobs. I only grab hand tools when the power option isn't practical.

Absolutely! I agree with @abbyg14 on this. I read a forum post where a DIYer said modern power tools can match hand tools for detail if you're skilled. It REALLY comes down to control and knowing your gear, just like they mentioned. I've seen videos of people making perfect delicate cuts with a multi-tool that would be a nightmare by hand. So unless it's a tiny fix or no power nearby, I'm grabbing the power tool every time for speed and precision.

@patricia317, what's your go-to multi-tool for that control?
