Vent: my table saw fence locked up mid-cut on a kitchen job in Tacoma

Tbh I was 40 minutes from finishing 12 cabinet panels when the fence on my old saw decided to bind at the far end. It had never given me trouble before, but the rail had stripped where the clamp seats, so it was grabbing at an angle. I had to stop, unload everything, and spend 2 hours disassembling it in the parking lot with a crescent wrench and a pocket screwdriver. Found the culprit was a worn bolt from a bad batch I bought 8 months ago, not the saw itself. Replaced it with a grade 8 bolt from the local supply and got back to cutting, but I lost the whole afternoon and missed my pickup window. Has anyone else had a fence clamp fail like that on a deadline, and did you switch to a different rail setup after?

And that stripped rail is the real kicker, once those threads go it's just a matter of time before it bites you on the worst possible job. I've seen guys swap to a t-slot extrusion with a cam lock and never look back, but honestly a good cleaning and a fresh bolt might hold you for years if the rail itself ain't gouged. The real lesson is carrying a spare bolt kit in the truck, cause that two hour parking lot fix is exactly why I keep a whole hardware drawer organized by size now.
