Why does no one warn you about cutting wet pressure treated pine
Last Tuesday I was framing a deck in Norfolk and ripped into a fresh bundle of pressure treated 2x6s, and the whole saw just gummed up. The blade got so bound in wet sap that it stopped dead mid cut and kicked back, and I ended up with a bruise the size of a silver dollar on my thigh. I grabbed my spare framing blade thinking the first one was shot, but same thing happened after about 4 boards, so I wiped everything down with kerosene and let the wood sit overnight. Next morning it cut like butter, and I got the whole 240 square foot frame done by 3pm. Anyone got a trick for speeding up the drying without wrecking the boards, or do you just eat the lost day?
