Cold cereal for dinner was my thing, now it's all about warm rice bowls
Back in college I ate cereal for dinner like 5 nights a week, usually Frosted Mini Wheats with almond milk straight from the box. Fast forward to last November when I started a night shift at a warehouse in Tulsa, and my stomach just couldn't handle cold sugar at 11pm anymore. I switched to making quick warm rice bowls with canned beans, shredded cheese, and hot sauce, takes about 8 minutes total. The weird part is I still crave that crunch, so now I top the rice with crushed tortilla chips and it kind of scratches the same itch. Has anyone else swapped their cold cereal habit for a warm savory bowl because of a schedule change or just getting older?

My last cereal dinner was literally just shredded wheat with water because I ran out of milk at 3am and I still ate the whole bowl, zero regrets. Now I'm the exact same with rice bowls, I put crushed up cheez-its on top instead of chips and honestly it's a texture thing I can't explain. My roommate caught me eating it and said I looked like a raccoon with a fork, which is fair. I'm 34 and my stomach filed a formal complaint against cold sugar after 10pm, so I get it.
