Cold gazpacho at 7am made me rethink my whole cereal stance

I used to be a strict cereal-only breakfast person, anything blended or chilled felt wrong before noon. Last Saturday I had leftover gazpacho from a tapas night in Austin and figured why not, it was 84 degrees by 8am. Spooning that cold tomato soup with crunchy veg bits honestly hit the same texture vibe as my usual granola bowl, just savory. Now I'm wondering if gazpacho is basically just soup-cereal, and if so, does that mean my morning smoothie is a soup too? Where do you all draw that line, or am I just eating soup for breakfast like a weirdo?

Wait, are you seriously trying to argue that a cold soup with chunks of vegetables is the same thing as cereal? Cereal is grain based, usually dry, and meant to be eaten with milk or yogurt. Gazpacho is literally just blended tomatoes and peppers. That's like saying a salad is just cold soup because it's got veggies and dressing. And your smoothie point? Come on, a smoothie is a drink, you sip it. You chewed that gazpacho, you chewed the granola. Smoothies don't even have texture unless you add seeds or something. The whole reason cereal works in the morning is the crunch and the milk doing the work, gazpacho is already wet and mushy by design. You're not eating soup-cereal, you're just eating soup early, which is fine, but don't pretend you discovered some breakfast loophole. If anything, you're the weirdo for needing a category for everything you put in your mouth before noon.

Nah, you're onto something though... cereal is just a crunchy base with stuff added, and gazpacho's got that same chew factor with the veg bits, just swapped sweet for savory. Calling it soup-cereal feels less weird than admitting I've been slurping morning salads this whole time.
