Showerthought: my chili over cornbread beat my chili over rice and it was not close
My dad always served chili over white rice and I did that for years without thinking about it. Two weeks ago I ran out of rice so I dumped a can of chili over leftover cornbread from a cookout and the sweet crumble soaked up the juice way better than rice ever did. Is cornbread actually the right base for chili or am I just fooling myself because it was the first time I tried it?
