I ditched my gas mower for a $99 electric one in Phoenix and now I have to mow twice as often
Two years ago my old gas mower finally died, so I stood in the aisle at a store in Phoenix and picked between a $99 corded electric and a $380 gas self-propelled. I went electric because I was tired of hauling gas cans and the cord was long enough for my whole yard. Fast forward to last Saturday and I mowed the same strip of Bermuda grass for the third time this month because the electric just can't cut it when the grass gets tall. My neighbor with the gas mower does his lawn once every two weeks and it looks fine, while mine looks shaggy by day ten. I'm not going back to gas on principle, but I'm starting to think I made a dumb call for a yard this size in this heat. Anyone else running electric in a hot climate, and did you figure out a schedule that actually works?
