My reduction sauce decided to redecorate the kitchen ceiling

I was making a red wine reduction for a fancy dinner last night. Got a call from my sister and stepped away for just a minute. Big mistake. That sauce boiled over like a tiny volcano, spraying burgundy dots all over my white ceiling. Came back to what looked like a bad paint job. My date arrived early and saw me scrambling with a sponge. We ended up ordering pizza and laughing about it. Now I set a timer and stay put when anything is simmering.

Ugh, did you get the stains out? My chili did that once and I had orange polka dots on the stove hood for months. Now I never leave the room when something's bubbling, lesson learned.

My stove hood still has a permanent orange freckle from a tomato sauce explosion last year. Looks like a weird modern art piece, lmao.
