After my store bag tore, I tried sewing my own soot catcher from tent scraps.
Honestly, the double stitching has held solid through three messy cleanouts so far.

Reminds me of patching a hose with bike tire scraps. That held up for two full seasons of garden use. It's funny how these improvised solutions often work better than expected.

Your garden hose is now more reliable than my last phone charger. Store bought patches always fail immediately, but that random junk fix becomes a permanent part of your life. It's like the universe rewards our most desperate ideas.

Right? My old backpack strap broke and I fixed it with a key ring, still going strong years later. Wendy_jackson is so right about these desperate fixes becoming permanent.
