Am I the only one who saw a 12-foot flue liner just sitting in a front yard in Bakersfield?

It was leaning against a fence, no cap, and the homeowner said they'd been 'getting to it' for over a year, which seems like a real invitation for trouble.

Honestly, that just sounds like a future planter box to me.

Depends on where you live, to be fair. Out in Bakersfield a 12-foot flue liner sitting in a yard for a year is basically a conversation piece, not a hazard. @angelar57, plenty of things get planted in those things, but a flue liner makes a terrible planter since it has no drainage and will just hold water like a swamp.

You just changed my mind, I always thought those were just for chimneys.
