The farmer's market in Austin that broke my compost bin habit
I was at the Mueller farmers market last month and saw a booth selling compostable bags, so I bought a pack. Got home, filled them up with veggie scraps, and tossed them in the bin like always. A week later I opened the bin and the bags hadn't broken down at all, just sat there like plastic. The vendor told me they need a commercial facility, not my backyard pile, so now I'm back to a plain bucket. Has anyone else found home compost setups that actually handle those bags or am I stuck hauling scraps to the city drop-off?

My neighbor tried those bags and ended up with a raccoon problem digging through everything.

Did the bags have any food smell left on them before they tossed them out?
