Tried biking to work for a week and almost got hit 3 times

I live in Phoenix and our city's bike lanes just end randomly. One minute you're safe, the next you're sharing a 45mph road with a lifted pickup. Has anyone else had a close call that made them rethink how bad your town's infrastructure actually is?

Bike lanes just end randomly" - man, that's every city though. You think Phoenix is bad, try riding in a place that doesn't even pretend to have bike lanes. At least yours exist for part of the ride.

Honestly @milestaylor, you got me thinking. Used to complain about the gaps here but now I see even having part of a lane is better than nothing.
