Had to choose between a quick fixture setup or a full redesign for a tricky part

Went with the quick setup to meet a deadline, and it caused a 0.005 inch runout on the second op. Now I'm redoing the whole batch. What's your go-to method for holding odd-shaped aluminum pieces?

For odd shapes, I sometimes use a soft jaw setup with strategic pins for extra support.

Yeah, soft jaws with some custom-milled pockets have saved me a few times. Just gotta take the extra hour to cut them right.
