Showerthought: the guy training me at the plant in Rockford told me to stop trusting the readout and touch the part
I was 3 weeks into running a lathe at a job shop in Rockford and kept scrapping parts because I trusted the DRO numbers over the actual cut. The trainer walked over, grabbed a 0.001 feeler gauge, and told me the readout lies after a crash, so he made me indicate every part by hand for a week straight. How many of you still check with a gauge instead of just reading the screen?
