Had the same thing happen on a lathe job two years ago and it cost me half a day plus a $60 tool. Now I hit the coolant lines with air before every run, especially on mills that sit overnight. Chips dry up in the nozzle and block flow just enough that you don't notice until the tool is glowing. Pull the line off, blow it out, run it into a bucket for a few seconds, then you know it's clear. Takes two minutes and saves you a lot more than that.
