Rant: I spent $60 on angled dishwasher racks and they broke in 2 weeks

Heard a contractor friend say those things are basically just cheap plastic that can't handle heat cycles and water pressure. Sounds like you got exactly what everyone else does. Did you try getting a refund or just toss them?

Took me 3 years to realize I was storing my comics wrong

Oh man, that wavy page discovery is a gut punch. In my experience, a closet on the second floor with a basic dehumidifier is the way to go, just make sure the door stays open a crack for air flow. I'd also grab some silica gel packs to toss in the boxes for extra moisture control, saved me from a similar headache a couple years back.

Vent: I used to think boning knives needed to be razor sharp for everything, but after trimming 80 pork shoulders at Johnson's Market last Saturday I realized a slightly duller edge actually gives me more control on the fat cap.

Nah, you can still get away with a sharp edge on fatty stuff if you're careful. Just have to ride the burr right and not get greedy with the pressure.

Looked at my logbook and saw I've lifted exactly 10,000 tons this year

Don't you think those daily grind numbers get padded a bit too? I've seen guys count every partial load and half-empty return trip as if the truck was maxed out. It seems like the totals look impressive on paper but the real tonnage per run is way lower when you factor in deadhead miles and partial loads. Not saying the guy you saw is cheating, but the math gets fuzzy when you're adding up a year's worth of trips.

My contractor told me to skip the vapor barrier in my basement reno. Three months later I had mold.

Ngl your contractor totally screwed you, same thing happened with my guy and now I can't stand the smell down there.
