Just realized my local roastery in St. Paul overcharges for pour-overs
I stopped into Fika Coffee last Saturday and saw they want $6.50 for a single pour-over. That's more than I spend on a whole bag of decent beans from the grocery store. Am I missing something about why that price makes sense?

Usually they use way better beans and do it by hand with more control, so you're paying for the craft not just coffee. But $6.50 still stings when you can make the same thing at home for like fifty cents. If you really want to save, just buy a good pour-over cone and a gooseneck kettle, that's like a month of their pour-overs total. The real trick is getting their beans and making it yourself, you still get the flavor without the markup. I'd only splurge there if I wanted to hang out in the shop for a bit.

Maybe they're factoring in the "rent" of the fancy air they have in there too. $6.50 feels like you're paying for the vibe more than the coffee.
