Dropped $120 on mystery long boxes at a garage sale in Fresno and got 9 copies of the same Deadpool issue
I was so sure I'd find some key hidden in there. Turns out the guy just dumped his duplicates on me, and half of them have water damage on the back. If you're buying sealed boxes, do you crack one open before you pay or just walk away?
Buddy of mine did the exact same thing at an estate sale up in Modesto, paid 80 bucks for three sealed boxes and every single book was X-Force #2 from the 90s. He opened one in the driveway right after paying and the seller just shrugged and said all sales final. Now he always asks to peek at one box first, and if the guy says no he just hands it back and walks. Sellers with nothing to hide usually don't care.
