My LCBS started carding people for mature titles and half the pull list walked out
So the comic shop I've been going to on Grand Ave since I was 14 started carding people for anything with a mature readers label about 6 weeks ago. The owner told me he got spooked after a parent complained, so now you need ID for stuff like Saga or anything with a black label cover. I watched three regulars, grown adults who have been pulling books there for a decade, walk out mad the same Saturday I found out. One guy said he'd rather drive 20 minutes to the shop across town than get carded at 41 years old. I get not selling Punisher to a 10 year old, but treating your paying regulars like kids is how you lose a whole pull list. Is this happening at anyone else's shop or is mine just being weird about it?
