I thought those cheap thermal paste syringes were all the same until a server in Dallas kept overheating

Used to grab whatever cheap paste was on sale, figured it was all the same goop. Then my old HTPC started sounding like a jet engine, and the paste had turned into a chalky brick. Swapped in some Noctua NT-H1 and it's been dead silent for three years now. Totally changed how I see that little tube, it's worth the extra few bucks for sure.

Vent: The writing prompt board at the Denver library had the same three ideas for months

Tell me about it. I had a neighbor who would do that every single morning at 7 am. Just constant, pointless beeping. It got to the point where I had to go talk to them.

I thought salting pasta water was a waste until my sauce stopped sticking

Wait, you were boiling pasta in plain water for YEARS? I can't even imagine how that tasted. Like, the noodles must have been so sad and gluey. I tried that once when I was out of salt and it was like eating wet cardboard, the sauce just slid right off.

A simple logbook change saved me from a near miss last month

Just saw the 2mm groove thing and my brain blue screened. That's the kind of move you pull when you're either a total legend or you've completely given up on the day. Like, were you trying to carve a new fault line or just really committed to that pencil mark? Honestly, respect for the chaos.

Finally got a link from a local news site after six months of outreach

Man, that's so true it hurts. It feels like everything runs on "local paper time" now, @thea_mitchell20. You see it with repair guys saying they'll show up between 8am and 5pm, or waiting weeks for a simple call back. It's this low-grade stress of just hanging around, hoping someone follows through. Makes you miss when people just did things when they said they would.
