Vent: Green spec on paper still got shut down by the local inspector
Spent 3 months and $12k on a spec-compliant system for that warehouse off I-85, everything stamped and sealed, and the inspector still flagged the fire riser because he 'didn't like the clearance'. Anyone else dealing with inspectors who just make up rules on the fly?

Man inspectors can be wild with the clearance stuff. Back when I was doing some weekend work on a buddy's food truck setup, the health guy dinged us because the hand sink was 2 inches off from where his sheet said even though the county code didn't say anything about it. He told us he goes by what feels right on site, which is a crazy thing to hear when you just dropped real money on plans. We ended up moving the whole sink and it passed the next visit no problem. Feels like half the job is guessing what mood the guy will be in that day.
