Static fear conquered with a proper wrist strap setup
Used to dread touching components without one. Now I can work on boards without sweating it.

Notice how often the right simple tool fixes a whole chunk of background anxiety. Getting a good can opener stopped me dreading making dinner, lol. It's wild how one little reliable thing, like your strap, lets your brain focus on the actual work instead of the worry.

My ancient tape measure always stuck and never rolled back right. Struggled with it on every single home repair job for way too long. @margaret_robinson, your can opener example really nails that feeling. Buying a new one wiped out a constant low level frustration. It's amazing how a few dollars for a reliable tool quiets your mind. I was basically creating my own petty stress by not swapping it sooner.

That "constant low level frustration" is so real. We just adapt to broken stuff, like a kitchen knife so dull you have to saw through a tomato, or a phone charger you have to bend just right. It's not one big problem, it's death by a thousand cuts. Your brain wastes energy working around the failure instead of on the task. Fixing one of those things feels like taking a deep breath you didn't know you needed.
