A customer's throwaway comment on broom finish flipped my whole routine

Last Tuesday I was finishing a driveway in Fort Worth and this older guy watches me for a minute, then says 'you're working too hard for a finish that'll just get parked on.' I laughed it off, but after he left I tried his idea of using a wider magnesium float and letting the mix tighten up longer before brooming. Cut my finish time on those big pours by maybe 30 percent and the texture came out more uniform too. Anyone else ever had a random homeowner point out a trick that actually made you faster?
