Watched a finisher in Wichita screed a slab backwards and it ruined my confidence in my own method
I was on a pour in Wichita back in March and this older guy ran his screed from the far side back toward himself, opposite of how I've done it for 12 years. He said it keeps you from pulling a wave into the wet edge, and the slab finished dead flat with almost no touch up. I tried it on a 30x40 garage pad three weeks ago and my edges came out cleaner than usual. Now I'm wondering if I've been fighting the mud for no reason this whole time. Anyone else switch their screed direction later in their career, or am I overthinking one good pour?
