I finally sold my GameCube last month after giving both a fair shot for a whole summer. The PS2 just has the library depth, with stuff like Burnout 3 and Guitar Hero that the Cube never matched for my local friend group in Austin. I ran through 300 hours across both consoles and the PS2's backwards compatibility sealed it since my PS1 discs still work. Anyone else make the switch and regret it or stick with the Cube?
Man, 300 hours in one summer is a serious commitment just to sell a console. I get the PS2 library is huge, but you basically did a science project on which box made you feel better about your childhood. Backwards compatibility is cool and all, but my PS1 discs are all scratched to hell anyway, so that perk never really mattered to me. Sounds less like a real preference and more like you needed a reason to clear shelf space before football season started. The Cube had way tighter exclusives for me, and I never once wished I could play Guitar Hero with a plastic guitar that takes up half my living room. Honestly, if you're measuring fun in hours played, you're already overthinking it.
