PSA: I called the Dreamcast a glorified toy in 1999 and I owe it an apology
Back in 1999 my buddy Dave worked at a Funcoland in Columbus and kept telling me to try the Dreamcast before I spent my money on a PlayStation. I laughed at him for a solid hour because I figured a console that came out before the big names was dead on arrival, so I bought the PlayStation anyway. Then I played Shenmue, Soulcalibur, and NFL 2K at his place one Saturday and just sat there quiet for a minute because the graphics looked like a different machine entirely. Now I wonder how many people skipped it for the same dumb reason I did. Did anyone else write off a console early and get proven wrong later?
