Hit 10k subscribers last week and it changed my whole view on growth

I always thought you needed a big launch or a viral video to grow a channel. Then I just kept posting consistently for 8 months straight, responding to every comment, and bam... 10k showed up. Turns out slow and steady actually works better than chasing trends for me. Has anyone else seen a big milestone pop up when you least expected it?

Yeah I gotta push back on that "slow and steady" thing... "Popped up when you least expected it" sounds more like luck than a real strategy. I've seen too many channels grind for years with perfect consistency and never crack 500 subs because the algorithm just doesn't care about effort. A buddy of mine posted 200 videos over 18 months, replied to everyone, did all the right things... still stuck under 5k. Meanwhile another guy gets one lucky clip on a trending topic and blows past 50k in a week. Consistency helps but it's not some magic formula. So congrats on 10k but your story might be the exception, not the rule.

Threw the whole "play the long game" advice out the window myself last year, just focused on making stuff i actually wanted to watch instead of what the gurus said to do, and weirdly enough it took off. Sometimes you gotta stop following the blueprint and see what sticks.
