Vent: It took me 9 months to figure out the moon landing photo thing, and I feel dumb
So I got into a fight with my brother in law at Thanksgiving about the moon landing photos, and I swore the shadows proved it was fake. I spent 9 months reading forums, watching 4 hour videos, and even bought a $30 book on photo analysis. Last Tuesday I finally set up a lamp in my garage to test the shadow angle myself. Took me maybe 10 minutes to see that a single light source does make parallel shadows look weird on uneven ground. I just sat there in my garage feeling like a total idiot for arguing so hard over something I never actually tested. Now I want to know, what's the one conspiracy claim you actually went and tested yourself, and did it change your mind?
