A/B tested my video thumbnails for 30 days, one style won by a mile
I finally got around to comparing my overly edited thumbnails against simple ones with just a bold face and one word. Did this on my last 12 uploads, split evenly, same topic types. The plain ones pulled almost double the click rate, 4.8% versus 2.5%, which shocked me since I spent way more time on the busy ones. Anyone else tried dumbing down their thumbnails and seen better numbers?
