Had a client cancel a retainer after I changed my posting schedule

So last month at a coffee shop in Portland, I was meeting with this client I'd had for about 8 months. They were cool with my weekly blog posts and social media updates, nothing crazy. But after I switched to posting three times a week on LinkedIn without asking them first, they called me in and said the content felt spammy. I lost the $1,500 monthly retainer over that one change. Has anyone else had a client push back on frequency like that?

Respectfully, I see this differently - you made a Big change without running it by them first. That's a trust issue more than a frequency issue.
