I saw a sign at the Portland airport that was just a QR code with no words at all.

It made me think about how far you can strip down a call to action before it stops working for people, and I'm curious if anyone has tried something that minimal on a website or in a physical space.

Is this really a design problem or just people overthinking things? A QR code is pretty clear these days, it's just a link. Maybe we don't need a paragraph of text for everything.

Ever try scanning a QR code in a dim bar, @jadew63? It's not about overthinking, it's about basic usability. Some context text is just good design.

Consider people with vision issues, they need context.
