Shoutout to the 2014 blog post that still gets me clients today
I keep watching folks pump out daily posts that vanish in a week, when one helpful piece I wrote 9 years ago still brings in leads every month. Anyone else notice the stuff that actually lasts is the stuff you'd want to read twice?
Wait, are you sure the age of the post is what's doing the work there? I only ask because I've seen the same thing happen with stuff that's way newer than 2014, and I've also watched old posts sit there doing nothing for years. What I've noticed is it's less about how old the post is and more about whether it answers a question people are actually typing into Google right now. A post from last month can pull in leads forever if it hits the right search, and a nine year old one dies if nobody searches for that topic anymore. So the age isn't really the magic part, it's that your topic stayed useful while everyone else chased whatever was trending that week. The stuff you'd read twice tends to be the stuff that solves a real problem, and problems don't really go out of style.
