Spent 3 hours reworking a blog post because I ignored internal linking from the start

I wrote a 2,500 word guide on local SEO for bakeries last month and completely forgot to build internal links as I went. When I finally went back to add them, I had to rewrite whole sections to make the anchor text flow naturally. It took me about 3 hours of editing that could have been 20 minutes if I just added links while drafting. Anyone else fall into this trap or is it just me being lazy?

Sounds like you learned the hard way, huh.

And that's exactly it, Tessa. The thing is, when you're deep in writing mode, you think you'll remember where to drop those links later. But you never do. I did something similar with a post about Google My Business optimization. I had this whole section on local citations and completely forgot to link back to my own guide on managing reviews. When I finally went to add the link, the sentence felt forced and I had to rewrite like four paragraphs to make it fit. It's way easier to just throw a link in while the thought is fresh and then smooth out the anchor text on the first edit pass. Saves you that whole "why does this sound so awkward" headache.

Didnt used to think it mattered that much but yeah, this post kinda flipped my thinking. I just start dropping placeholder links now and fix the text later. Way less headache.
