inUpdate: My code finally worked after a week of errors
Yeah, but that's the thing. If the typo was in a language without strict variable checking, it might not crash. It just creates a new, empty variable and keeps running with wrong data. That's a nightmare to track down.

inHot take: I swore by my old climbing line for a decade, but after a buddy in Seattle made me try a 24-strand double-braid for a week, the difference in grip and wear on my hands was night and day.
What brand of double-braid did you end up getting?

inA client's comment about my drawer slides made me rethink a basic step
My uncle did custom trim work for thirty years and always said the difference between a good job and a great one is in the repeat cuts. He used to clamp a scrap piece of maple to his saw table as a stop, said it saved him hours of sanding and filling on every install.

inStopped by the old Pick-a-Part junkyard in Bakersfield and saw they've started crushing whole rows of '90s cars for scrap.
Honestly @the_reese, that line about the local yards not keeping stuff around anymore hits hard. Tbh I've had the same problem trying to find parts for my old truck. My go-to now is just joining every single model-specific Facebook group I can find. It's all about waiting for someone to post a part-out. Ngl it takes patience and you get some weird messages, but I found a whole tailgate last year from a guy three states over who shipped it.

inJust read that a major art contest winner used AI and didn't tell anyone until after
Man... that's like entering a drag race with a jet plane and calling it fair play.
