The airport bookshop in Denver messed with my content calendar
I used to just pick topics that felt interesting or matched what competitors wrote, but never tied them to a clear goal. The book said each post should answer who it's for and what action you want them to take. I made a quick spreadsheet of my last 30 posts and tagged them as awareness, consideration, or decision. Turns out I had almost zero decision-stage stuff, which explains why my email signups are so low. Trying a new approach next month where I plan one post per stage for each product line, but it feels way more time-consuming than my old method. Any tools or templates you guys use to keep this organized without burning out?
The "one post per stage for each product line" thing sounds like a lot of work for something that might not move the needle as much as you hope. I get that low signups are annoying, but deciding every single post has to fit into awareness or consideration or decision feels like overthinking it. Some of the best stuff I've written didn't fit a funnel stage at all and still brought in leads just fine. Maybe try the spreadsheet for a month and see if your signups actually go up before you build a whole system around it, lol.
